Attending the “Write the Story, Change Your Life” workshop was something I really wanted to do, as I had never attended any writing workshop before. I am proud that the Nam Pad team was selected. On the first day, what I gained was the opportunity to reflect on myself, which helped me get to know myself better. I felt proud of myself. Professor Worachet guided us to reflect on the good things in our lives, comparing ourselves to certain objects. It made me realize that I have overcome many difficult challenges in life. And now, looking back, I feel happy and empowered because of what I have gone through—something I had never thought about before.
I had never listened to anyone with full attention. I had attended workshop on active listening before, but never like this. In the group, everyone was silent, really focusing on what the others were saying. I began to understand that when they spoke, they were not just telling stories about their experiences; they were communicating that they were proud of what they had accomplished. This was extremely valuable. I also learned writing techniques—how to approach writing, where to start. Before, I never thought I could write a story, but now I understand how to tell a story that paints a picture, makes people want to read, and offers something useful to the reader.
How I applied “Write the Story, Change Your Life” to myself: First, when I face a problem, I now reflect on the past. Second, I can extract lessons from my work, look back, and continue improving it. And third, I now write stories that can be used practically. The most useful thing has been writing work-related stories. Small stories that I can share with the community or others, so they can understand and apply the lessons from them.
